We talked to Ahmet Özpınar, Turkey Manager of Milestone Paver Llc, which has warehouses in Miami, Tampa and Pompano Beach and is preparing for investments in various regions of the USA, about the company's goals and investment plans. Can you tell us about your company and your investments?
About 20 years ago, we started to import natural stones from Turkey to the United States, which are used frequently in the United States, applied to the ground at the edges of gardens and pools, with various sizes and different surface treatments. Since we aim to develop, innovate and grow in line with the goals of our company, we have expanded and enlarged our product portfolio by adding many products such as tiles and mosaics over time.
Currently we operate in our three major warehouses in Miami, Tampa and Pompano Beach. in the Florida region of America. We operate with However, we continue to grow, develop and invest in America. We are opening our new warehouse with approximately $ 15 million value in Miami, which is one of our new big investments very soon. In addition, we will activate another warehouse in Orlando soon. We provide natural stone from our Ankamer Energy Mining Ind. Trade Ltd. Co and Miamar Mining Ind. Trade Ltd. Co. Companies to our warehouses in America and to European countries. We have a wide customer network in both the USA and Europe. Our mission is always to ensure the satisfaction of our customers and to provide the desired quality service. What is the reason for choosing Afyonkarahisar region for the project?
One of our primary goals was to invest in our country and our industry, which has an important place in the world natural stone industry, within the permanent settlement. In order to serve to markets outside the United States and grow there, we decided to open a warehouse-showroom showroom in Afyonkarahisar with an investment cost of 5 million dollars. While determining our preference for the city for our investment, we chose Afyonkarahisar for its natural stone potential and in order to be close to our producers.
Could you give information about the capacity of your warehouse-showroom and the opportunities it provides to the visitors?
We will start the construction of our showroom and warehouse on our 41,205 m² land in March and aim to complete by the end of the year. Since our land is parallel to Afyonkarahisar-Ankara highway in terms of location, I think that the warehouse-showroom will have an important value. Marble slabs are the main product of our product portfolio. In addition to the domestic and imported plates used in the projects, we also work on porcelain plates that have been in demand recently.
We will also provide project support for the projects they will do about these products they want to buy from us. We have already done both our product and market studies regarding our plate products.
I think that we have a serious supply power in the market for the processed cut to size products that we currently supply to our warehouses in the USA and we are popular in the market in this regard. With the completion of our project, we will have a stock of approximately 900 containers of finished product stock. We will always present ready and quality-controlled stones of various sizes and different surface treatments to our customers.
By evaluating the advantageous opportunities this will provide us, we will offer a wide range of services to our customers in the field of dimensional products. To summarize; today, one of the most important factors that our people look for is comfort as well as quality. We will provide this comfort and quality in the best way possible in the products and services they will receive from us.
How many different products do you aim to exhibit in total? According to which criteria did you determine the stones to be exhibited?
Currently, we have nearly 60 products, both domestic and imported slabs in our planning. While determining the products, we made our study based on the product groups preferred by the customers recently. I believe that these products will increase according to the demand that will occur over time. As for processed dimensional products, we have been working on many products in the market for a long time. We are currently purchasing many products in different sizes and with different surface treatments. We also meet the demands that are requested from us regarding these products. In addition, we will respond to the demands in a competitive way by using our supply network for the products that we do not currently have..
What did you pay attention while designing your space? Can you give information about the interior and exterior concept of the building?
Every natural stonework and product is done to make the material give visual and artistic satisfaction. We also wanted to make the place where we will exhibit these products look beautiful visually. I think that our customers and visitors will be impressed by our architectural work when they visit us. During the meetings we held with our architects, we claimed to have an original design and to have details that also represent nature.
We wanted to present the natural stones that nature gave us over millions of years, with details representing nature in the same way. We carried out both our tree details and architectural landscape works in this direction. We did not want to overwhelm our interiors with too many marble details. By combined our natural stones which arouse admiration with their elegance with the harmony of the architectural structure,
We have turned it into a kind of visual feast. We will continue to develop and grow, always aiming one-step further, with this project and our investments that we have planned. One of our biggest goals in our investments is to preserve the value of Turkish natural stone. We want to increase our contribution to our country and sector even more by promoting and marketing our stones in the best way and applying our own sales policies.
